How a verification badge on your Facebook page reinforces your legitimacy

This verification badge indicates that a business page has been verified by Facebook. You may also see it for public figures, media companies, or global brands. The only difference in these cases is that the badge is blue.

Facebook recently introduced the local verification badge to show support for small businesses.

In fact, it's become increasingly difficult for business owners to rank correctly in organic search on Facebook. Or at least it's a lot harder than it used to be. Part of that is due to the growth in the number of users and the amount of content being shared every day.

For business owners, this means that it is quite difficult to appear in customers' newsfeeds and be visible.

Getting your page verified is therefore a way to gain more visibility. It tells users that your business is authentic and that the location is confirmed.
