How OMEGA tracks athletes
The Official Timekeeper of the 2024 Olympics, OMEGA, has announced new developments for the upcoming games.
The Scan'O'Vision Ultimate system, using the latest generation of photo finish technology, allows you to capture up to 40,000 digital images per second at the finish line and determine the official results by ecuador phone number material comparing the photos of each athlete crossing the line. The process uses a combination of single-camera and multi-camera systems, each based on the capabilities of artificial intelligence specially trained for a particular sport.
The new features also include Vionardo graphics technology, which provides crystal-clear, real-time, multi-lingual broadcasts. OMEGA will deploy these images at the competition venues and in the International Broadcast Centre.
Be present, anywhere in the world
Intel, the Worldwide Olympic Technology Partner, is preparing to leverage AI capabilities to create immersive interactive experiences accessible to viewers around the world.
In Paris, Intel Xeon processors will be used for the first time to demonstrate end-to-end 8K streaming in real time, with low latency and high image clarity.
AI Deep Learning Boost technology will encode and compress a live 8K signal in milliseconds. The signal will then be transmitted within seconds to the latest Intel-based computers and laptops connected to 8K TVs at select locations around the world, offering viewers the opportunity to enjoy the highest quality broadcast.
Intel’s AI technology also offers the opportunity to preserve Olympic heritage by converting video into digital 3D models. This will allow the Olympic Museum to transform some of its collections into interactive environments where viewers can not only watch, but also touch and explore pieces of Olympic history as if they were in their own hands.
