Nuclear power can be covered by thermal power

Post by ayshakhatun3113 »

People all over the world today feel a strong sense of crisis about nuclear power generation and hope for a safe everyday life. However, the Japanese government and the nuclear power industry dismiss the public's fears with explanations that seem to say, "Nuclear power is necessary after all, because without energy, neither life nor industry can exist. The anti-nuclear public opinion that only calls for a shift to renewable energy is nothing more than a pipe dream that is ignorant of reality." While the "anti-nuclear" movement is on the rise in Europe and the United States, the Japanese mass media continues to ignore even the citizen movements that are gaining momentum within the country.

On June 1st, in the midst of the country having experienced its third tragic "radiation exposure" and spreading enormous environmental pollution around the world, and this is still ongoing, it was reported that the US Westinghouse (a subsidiary of Toshiba), Hitachi, and GE consortium were trying to "sell nuclear power plants to Lithuania," to the dismay of the remove background image nation. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, which is backing this up, has announced a basic energy policy centered on nuclear power, ignoring Prime Minister Naoto Kan, who has announced a review of nuclear administration.

Furthermore, on June 13th, the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan, which is under the jurisdiction of the ministry, compiled a report stating that "if all nuclear power plants in Japan were to be shut down and replaced by thermal power plants, the average household's monthly electricity bill would increase by 1,049 yen next fiscal year." This would logically make it possible to phase out all nuclear power plants by agreeing to a price increase, but perhaps the authors of the report were careless in not realizing this.

Then, two days later, following the Cabinet decision to pass the Nuclear Damage Compensation Facilitation Corporation Bill, Tokyo Stock Exchange saw its stock price, Tokyo Electric Power Company, which should take responsibility for the accident, push up its stock price by 32%, hitting a daily limit high. On the 18th, Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Kaieda Banri called on local governments to allow nuclear power plants currently undergoing regular inspections to resume operations, a request which was later endorsed by the Prime Minister.

Politicians who have been "forced out" by bureaucrats and the nuclear power industry are uncertain about steering the policy toward the abolition of nuclear power like Italy and Germany. In Japan, information that "energy is enough without nuclear power" has spread on the Internet, originating from some scholars, but there are no figures to back up this claim.
