If you have prejudices, it is difficult to pursue your dreams

Berlin has always had a great attraction for creative people. In the early 70s, Giorgio moved to Berlin to make 'the music of the future'. The fact that he had to sleep in his car for a while after performances for lack of anything better did not stop him from persevering.
Another example is Google's UX Director Jens Riegelsberger. After the fall of the wall, he went to Berlin to study 'arts' and then to London for 'computer science', before joining (then start-up) Google in the US.
Where it was once musicians and artists, it is now tech entrepreneurs who, led by Zalando, are embarking on the adventure and increasing their chances of making big dreams come true.
Berlin is also a city of contrasts. War and peace are still palpable on every street corner. You literally stumble over remnants of the wall. Past and future come together here and that forms a fertile basis for creativity and activity. That does require free spirits.
No trends or predictions from me. They mainly stimulate either-or thinking and we have too much of special lead that now. The current time demands people who can think and-and and are able to make the best of contrasts. To make combinations that others do not see.
9 Voice Contradictions for 2019
1. People and robots
There is no team human or team robot. We are developing more and more tools that increase our possibilities. Humans are central, supported by technology. Artificial intelligence (AI) is creeping into our lives almost unnoticed. Where it is noticed, it can also lead to fear, as shown when people attacked self-driving cars in the US on December 17 .
The Rathenau Institute recently advised the Council of Europe to include 'genuine human contact' as a new human right . And Google's primary rule of design is that computers should speak and sound like humans, but never pretend to be human themselves.
But we must not forget who makes all that AI. That's us. And also not that the current AI can already do a lot, but that there is also enough dissenting voice to be heard, partly due to the ingrained prejudices ( bias ).
2. Short and long term
According to Amara , as an example of the Gartner Hype Cycle, we overestimate the first and underestimate the second. Vision and ambition are important, the trick is to translate them into a concrete plan of action.
