Social networks have swallowed Russians

A study by comScore found that Russians are the most active social network users in the world in terms of time spent on the sites. In August 2010, 34.5 million Russian Internet users, or 74.5% of Russia's entire online audience over the age of 15, visited at least one social network. The study also found that Yandex remains the most popular search engine in Russia. The
average amount of time spent by Russians on rcs database social networks was 9.8 hours per visitor, which is twice as much as the average in other countries, where the figure was 4.5 hours. Israel came in second, with users spending an average of 9.2 hours communicating online. Turkey came in third, with the average time spent on such sites being 7.6 hours.

Vkontakte.ru took first place in the rating of social networks in Russia with 27.8 million visitors, in second place was the site "Odnoklassniki", which in August 2010 was visited by 16.7 million users of the Russian Internet. Despite the strong position of Facebook in the world, this site took only fifth place in Russia with an indicator of 4.5 million visitors. Nevertheless, last year, its audience grew by 376%, this is the fastest growth rate compared to all other social networking sites in the top five.
