Seed germination depends on various factors including storage conditions, temperature, humidity, soil type, seed size, dormancy etc. (Benvinuti, 2007). In this study, storage significantly affected the germination of wheat seeds. The highest germination (99.5%) was recorded in warehouse storage of seeds, Kando storage of seeds (98%) and polyethylene grain bag storage (89.5%), respectively. The results of this study indicate that the best and most suitable storage system for wheat seed germination in Parwan province is warehouse storage condition. It is reported that no significant germination was observed in polyethylene grain bag storage system. The overall germination percentage within a day of warehouse storage seeds was significantly higher than Kando seeds and polyethylene bag storage seeds.
