The fourth trend to watch in 2023 is visual search.
In April 2022, Google announced the launch of the Multisearch feature within Google Lens, its image recognition application. It allows users to perform a search by combining text and images, thus giving Internet users the possibility of refining their searches.
Google did not stop there and the following months brought their share of innovations:
“Multisearch near me” (multiple local search) offers Internet cell phone number list users a sorting of search results according to their geographic location;
“Scene exploration” allows you to obtain immediate information on the products or objects that you film with your smartphone camera;
Displaying automatic text translation directly on the background image using machine learning technology “Generative Adversarial Networks” (GANs);
“Immersive View”: exploring places with an immersive view and a glimpse of what these places could become in the future (this time with Google Map).
Knowing the power of images in the media and on social networks, it is not surprising to see Google actively working on the subject.
Very promising, visual search opens up the field of possibilities with a more intuitive search by capturing the present moment. It proves to be particularly suited to local and transactional searches (shopping).
We could also have mentioned the rise of the video format in search results pages, the end of Google Analytics Universal and cookies, the gradual devaluation of links in the Google algorithm (information or misinformation on Google's part?) or even the promising podcast format. But artificial intelligence is on everyone's mind and may have an impact that we have not seen for many years in SEO. Watch this space!
