The Samsung Galaxy S25 has been tipped to add an extremely attractive new feature in Qi2 wireless charging.
According to reliable Samsung tipster Ice Universe, the impending update to Samsung’s flagship smartphone will include Qi2 support. Or at least that’s what another tipster claims they said. It appears the confirmation b2b email list was made privately on Chinese social network Weibo, with @Jukanlosreve then taking to X (formerly Twitter) to succinctly confirm what was said.
As far as these rumors go, it's far from the most solid source, but fans of wireless charging technology will likely welcome any hint that things are moving in a positive direction right now.
So far, the list of phones compatible with the second-generation extremely small, despite it being announced back in January 2023. In fact, iPhones aside, the HMD Skyline is the only other Qi2 phone on the market right now.
Apple played a huge role in the creation of Qi2 with its own MagSafe technology as a base. This was introduced back in 2020 with the iPhone 12 range.
As this suggests, the key attribute of Qi2 is that the wireless charger in question will magnetically attach to the back of the phone, ensuring proper alignment for more reliable and efficient charging.
