Yasuaki Aoyami, who saw a display model as a child in 1970, recalls how the device captured his imagination. Now, with modern technology for manufacturing bathtubs and shower systems, his company has been able to turn the dream into a reality.
“It worried me when I thought about what the future would be,” he recalled.
The machine, called Mirai Ningen Sentakuki (“Washing Machine of the Future for People”), will be installed in the Osaka Health Pavilion. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to test it, and a home-use device is planned for release later. During the exhibition, 1,000 sessions are planned for visitors, 7–8 people per day.
