Crowdfunding attracts more than a million French people

Post by shukla53621 »

Crowdfunding ( French translation of the English term crowdfunding) includes all modes of financial transactions that call upon a large number of people to finance a project.

This financing technique is practiced without the intervention of traditional financing actors, it is established directly between individuals and project leaders. The Internet has allowed the emergence of crowdfunding platforms that organize their transactions in different ways:

– The loan is the case of the UNILEND platform

– Donation is the model of the KICKSTARTER site

– Capital investment, this is the case of the WISEED platform

According to figures published by BFM Business , 66 million euros of crowdfunding were raised in the first half of 2014 in France, and 1 million French people participated in these funds (donations, loans or investments).

This year, in February, François Hollande declared "We want to give new impetus to this participatory financing" and Fleur Pellerin announced in turn that it was necessary to "Make France the pioneer country portugal business email list of participatory financing". On the loan side, the government planned changes in July of this year in terms of the amount lent (limited to 1 million euros per borrowing project), with individual loans not being able to exceed 1000€ per project in order to diversify risks. New statuses should see the light of day: Participatory Financing Intermediary (IFP) for lenders and Participatory Investment Advisor (CIP) for equity-crowdfunding (capital fundraising). Fees and remuneration should be displayed transparently (source: journal du net ).

Crowdfunding is currently booming in France. The barometer of the first half of 2014 of crowdfunding in France orchestrated by Compinnov for Finance Participative France has just been released this morning in collaboration with My New Startup and 36 active platforms.

Here are some key figures:

– In one year, the funds collected have doubled. In 2014, 66.4 million euros were collected (collection made from more than one million people) compared to approximately 33 million euros in 2013 (collection made from 503,395 people, all platforms combined)

– the distribution of funds is as follows: 9.8 million euros for the Capital, 19.2 million euros for the Donation and 37.4 million euros for the Loan (including 33 million euros of unallocated loan).

– The average collection amounts for the first half of 2014 vary depending on the types of crowdfunding platforms: €185,483 for Capital, €3,000 for Donation and almost €10,000 for Interest-bearing Loan.

– One million “Crowdfunders” in France with different contributions depending on the models: around €60 on average for the donation, €6,500 for the remunerated loan and €2,036 for the capital.

– In terms of the profile of “crowdfunders”, all ages are represented with a larger share of 35-49 year olds.

– These projects have different success rates depending on the models: 56% for capital, 59% for Donation with reward and 98% for loan (excluding unallocated loan).

Here are some other crowdfunding platforms: indiegogo.com – kisskissbankbank.com – mymajorcompany.com – apoyogo.fr – anaxago.com – particeep.com – wiseed.com

Many people seemed very skeptical when the first donation platforms appeared, but crowdfunding has taken on an important dimension. It should be remembered that donations on certain platforms are very similar to a form of sponsorship with a counterpart (goodies, information, previews, prototypes, etc.).

Furthermore, it is interesting when launching new concepts to consider this type of action not only as financing but to think of it as a real communication and sales tool. In particular, you can promise to donate a product when it is manufactured and therefore to promote the donation as sales already made.
